Thoughts

On this day 65 years ago, my beloved dad, Alan Hooper, got married. It is thanks to this amazing man, the person I was honoured, and privileged to call my dad, that I am here. He was so much more than my dad. He was my friend, hero, mentor, idol and inspiration. He made my world a better place in every possible way. I could not love him more than I did. I adored him, and miss him more than words can say. Rest in peace my angel, sleep well and know that you were loved. All my love always. L xx

Happy birthday to my wonderful, amazing, much loved and missed dad - Alan Hooper. xx Dad you took my hand in yours when I was born I knew how much you loved me as I did you Being with you was a joy, my happy place You made me laugh, and taught me love and kindness You taught me to always believe in myself and achieve my dreams The lessons I learned from you are the joy of living, and being who I am meant to be Now you are no longer here I think about you every day, doing my best to find the right way The special love and bond we share, between my heart and yours Means we will never be apart Love you always and forever xx

Alan Hooper, my dad, was always my hero, my mentor, and my friend. He gave me life literally, saving my life at birth, creating a life long bond of love, laughter, and joy. I adored him. He had the most wonderful smile, and a laugh that would light up a room. We shared a wonderful sense of humour, each laughing at the other's jokes. As his daughter, he taught me the importance of family, loyalty and hard work. He always encouraged me to follow my dreams - never give up, always believe, and I will achieve. He was always there when I needed him. He never judged or criticised. Dad had an incredible way of making people feel like they mattered, some thing that meant so much to me. He always made the time for others, and had a kind word of encouragement, or gentle advice. His generosity, compassion, and selflessness, are gifts that will remain with me always. He was a brilliant man, a clever man, who touched so many lives, with his big heart and presence. Words cannot do justice to how much he meant to me, and those around him. My beloved dad's legacy will live on in all of us. Dad I miss you so very much, life will never be the same again. I am so grateful, happy and proud that you were my dad, my hero, and friend to the very end. I will always love you. All my love L xx
